Covid 19 - What saftey measures are in place?

Some of our measures include but are not limited to...

  • Visitor numbers are significantly reduced.
  • Glasgow Science Centre will, as a minimum, operate under government guidelines for Covid-19 safety. Currently this includes masks for all visitors aged 12+ who are not exempt, as well as regular cleaning of all exhibits and areas, but at present does not include social distancing.
  • Extensive regular cleaning in all areas including exhibits during opening times with cleaning schedules on display at all toilets.
  • We are giving extra attention to high touch-points such as handrails, escalators, lift buttons and all hard surfaces.
  • Hand sanitising stations are available for use by everyone in key areas around GSC.
  • Contact information given to us at time of booking will be shared with Test and Protect if required.

Can I have a copy of your risk assessment?

You can find all the information you need in our health and safety for schools statement.

If you require our full covid risk assessment please email contact.us@gsc.org.uk.

Can I visit as a home educator?

Currently we are only open to school class trips on weekdays so there are no families visiting. To ensure a consistent experience we are therefore able to welcome home educators on these days to take part in our educational shows but it must be only the pupil(s) who are the appropriate age for the activity and their home educator who visits, the group cannot include younger/older siblings or other family members.  The cost for a home educator visit is £4 per pupil, who must be of school age and the home educator attending is free. Home educator visits are not available for those with nursery aged children.
