MathWorks
In 2023, Glasgow Science Centre secured £27,500 funding from the Royal Academy of Engineering to develop and deliver four public workshops.
As part of this project, MathWorks was one of 11 partners from industry. Staff from Glasgow Science Centre and MathWorks, codesigned a new and innovative activity to help the public understand telecommunications, and the role of engineers in this industry.
This has now been delivered to more than 1,500 people over 130 hours, helping increase understanding of how engineering improves lives.
This experience has massively developed my skills in public engagement in and helped me learn how to communicate technology topics. I have learned so much from the Science Communicators about how to explain and simplify complex concepts, and how to relate them to everyday life.
