On Saturday 9 May, drop in to the Design Studio between 11am and 3pm and meet local experts from universities across Glasgow to learn about their breakthroughs using gravitational waves to understand our universe.
Celebrating 10 years since the first detection of gravitational waves, researchers will share what we have learnt about black holes and the nature of gravity, and how technologies developed here in Glasgow are finding new applications in many areas of life.
Take part in some hands-on activities exploring the science behind gravitational waves, listen to the sounds of colliding black holes, and experiment with the technology behind gravitational-wave detectors. Ask the friendly researchers your space-related questions, and learn about the diverse, cutting-edge research being done right here in Glasgow.
Activities are best suited for ages six and up, but all levels of science background are welcome.
