STEM Starts Discovery Hub Opens in Moray
Glasgow Science Centre has collaborated with Unusual Projects and Moray Council to design a £4.8 million STEM Starts Discovery Hub at Elgin Library as part of the Moray Growth Deal.
The Discovery Hub opened in the Elgin Library this month and aims to inspire children in Moray to develop an interest in science and close attainment gaps. It is the first specialist STEM facility in Moray.
Along with the Discovery Hub, a mobile van has also been designed to provide portable exhibits and STEM resources to the more rural areas of Moray.
Glasgow Science Centre's Director for Experience Development, Dr Gillian Lang, said:
“Glasgow Science Centre loved being part of this project, working with Moray Council to conceptualise, design and develop the centre, exhibits and resources.
“The creative exhibits and play zones in Elgin Library’s new STEM Starts Centre will help to engage young children from an early age in science concepts and learning, in a way that is accessible, inclusive and fun.”
