Have a merry little Christmas at Glasgow Science Centre

Step into Christmas at Glasgow Science Centre this winter and experience their packed programme of merry-making events, festive films and special Starlight Screenings -certain to get the whole family in the mood for the big day.


Science Lates: Merry Little Christmas

Whether you're planning a night out with friends, a quirky date, or the ultimate office party, the adult-only Science Late: Merry Little Christmas will invite guests to eat, drink, and be merry while exploring the wonders of science.

You’ll be challenged to take part in some daring demonstrations and recreate some top movie moments in our Home Alone-inspired booby trap trail, while indulging in some festive cocktails and delicious food – ‘tis the season after all!


Starlight Screenings

For a unique cinematic experience, come and revisit movie classics from family blockbusters to iconic Sci-Fi's in the immersive setting of Glasgow Science Centre’s Planetarium.

With beloved titles including Nightmare Before Christmas, Muppet Christmas Carol and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, all our film screenings kick off with a seasonal tour of the cosmos and tickets include a seasonal snack to enjoy during the film.

Older audiences will also be able to get involved in the festivities with adult-only Starlight Screenings of nostalgic hits like It’s a Wonderful Life, Gremlins and Die Hard – complete with an alcoholic or non-alcoholic tipple and some popcorn.


IMAX

Family favourites Elf and The Polar Express (3D) will be making a much-awaited return to Scotland’s largest screen throughout December, for families looking to plan their Christmas days out.

Wicked: For Good, will also be flying into the IMAX on the 21st November – with a special double-bill of the two films scheduled for the 20th November. 
 

 

Merry in the Mall

In addition to a sled-worth of activities and hundreds of interactive exhibits to play with throughout the Science Mall, visitors in December will be able to take a seat for the Christmas Science Show to their visit – which promises to deliver exhilarating demonstrations and plenty of Christmas cheer, this is one show you won’t want to miss.

Visitors will also be able to book to see Santa’s Starry Adventure in the Planetarium, and travel through time for a sneak peek at Christmas Eve and see how Santa can use the stars to find his way home on his journey around the world in one special night!

And those in the market for last-minute stocking stuffers will be able to buy a Science Passport, or tickets to one of our famous Science of Whisky nights and immersive musical experiences under the stars in the Planetarium.
