Starlight Screenings at Glasgow Science Centre offer a unique movie experience! Revisit movie classics from family favourites to iconic Sci-Fi's in the immersive setting of Glasgow Science Centre’s Planetarium. All our film screenings kick off with a seasonal tour of the cosmos and tickets include a seasonal snack to enjoy during the film.
Family Flicks
Get your tickets to join us in The Planetarium for seasonal favourites and timeless tales for all ages — shared under the stars. Our Family Starlight Screenings in December 2025 kick off with Christmas classics. Family screenings cost £12 per person and include a festive popcorn to enjoy during the film.
Nightmare Before Christmas
Join us for some festive fun under the stars, as we find out how Santa finds his way around the Earth on Christmas Eve in Santa's Starry Adventure, then settle in for a showing of Nightmare Before Christmas.
Screening in December on the 19th at 1500 and 22nd at 1100. (24th at 1100 and 1400 - SOLD OUT)
The Muppet Christmas Carol
Join us for some festive fun under the stars, as we find out how Santa finds his way around the Earth on Christmas Eve in Santa's Starry Adventure, then settle in for a showing of The Muppet Christmas Carol.
Screening in December on the 20th at 1100, and 23rd at 1100. (21st at 1100 & 23rd at 1500 - SOLD OUT)
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Join us for some festive fun under the stars, as we find out how Santa finds his way around the Earth on Christmas Eve in Santa's Starry Adventure, then settle in for a showing of How the Grinch Stole Christmas to celebrate its 25th Anniversary!
Screening in December on 13th at 1500. ( 20th, 21st & 22nd at 1500 - SOLD OUT).
Adult Only Evenings
Looking for evening screenings of cult thrillers and seasonal chills? Our adult-only Starlight Screenings in The Planetarium kick off with a selection of Christmas classics and Christmas alternatives! Tickets for each film cost £16 per person and include festive popcorn and a drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available).

For family flicks, which take place during the day, additional snacks and drinks are available to purchase before the film starts in our cafe/coffee shop or vending machines on the Ground Floor.
For the adult screenings, which take place in the evenings, additional drinks and snacks will be available to purchase at The Planetarium.
