Success at Scottish Thistle awards
DOUBLE-WIN FOR GLASGOW SCIENCE CENTRE
Glasgow Science Centre is delighted to have been awarded Best Visitor Attraction and the Climate Action Award at Visit Scotland’s Scottish Thistle Regional Awards in Glasgow last night.
The double-win came in the same month that Glasgow Science Centre received its 6 millionth visitor.
The Best Visitor Attraction award recognises businesses that provide a world class service which deliver an authentic, memorable Scottish experience, and the Climate Action award recognised organisations who have made demonstrable progress on their climate action journey to Net Zero.
Commenting after the awards, Dr Stephen Breslin, Chief Executive Officer at Glasgow Science Centre, said:
"It's a real honour to be recognised for the effort and commitment we are putting into our ongoing sustainability journey.
“Our team have worked exceptionally hard to not only use our unique position to help inform and educate our visitors about climate change and empower them to be advocates for action, but to look at how we adapt our own business practices and engage with partners to improve our local environment.”
Commenting, Dr Gillian Lang, Director of Experience Development at Glasgow Science Centre, said:
"We are over the moon to receive this amazing accolade. This is a hugely valued industry endorsement which will be appreciated by every member of our staff whose commitment and passion to delivering memorable experiences for all our visitors, whether families, school pupils, clients or community members, is at the heart of this achievement.
“The Science Centre building itself has been a recognisable feature of the city's skyline for over 20yrs but it's fantastic to have been acknowledged for the amazing experiences, exhibitions and events that can be enjoyed, and the warm welcome everyone receives when they step through our doors."
