Salary: £37,196.00-£41,697.00 per annum
The role
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Financial Controller within our small but dedicated finance team.
You will deputise for the Financial Controller in their absence, and support them in delivering accurate, timely and high-quality financial information to internal and external parties. You will provide support to all department and project managers with financial issues, and will be responsible for the management and development of the Finance Team.
The ideal candidate is confident in building relationships inter-departmentally, able to work well under pressure, is flexible in their approach to work and is enthusiastic about developing new ways of working.

Q1. Please tell us how your skills and experience make you the ideal candidate for the role of Deputy Financial Controller within Glasgow Science Centre. We are particularly interested to hear about any accountancy exposure.
Q2. We make the most of new technology to improve our practices with the current implementation of a new finance system. How do you do this and what would you say is your greatest technical strength?
Q3. Being a key support to the Financial Controller and managing the finance team will be a part of this role. What experience do you have in this area, and can you give some examples where you have supported and motivated individuals to achieve high performance?
Q4. You will be working interdepartmentally. Can you demonstrate a time that you have worked with non-financial people/departments that presented a challenge and how did you overcome this?
Q5. Describe a time when you had to manage several deadlines. What steps did you take to ensure they were all effectively managed within the timeframe?
