We are delighted you are considering using Glasgow Science Centre as a venue for your media call, filming or photography. Please remember the building and the surrounding grounds are private property and a business, and that we have to ensure that any filming and photography conforms to standards regarding safety, privacy and the protection of minors.

Visitor Guidance

Visitors are welcome to take photographs and video recordings at Glasgow Science Centre for personal use only.

• Please limit photography and filming to members of your own party.
• We may ask you to stop taking photos or filming if it causes distress to other visitors and staff.
• No drones are allowed on site without prior consent.
• Commercial use of any photos or videos taken at Glasgow Science Centre is not permitted.
• Glasgow Science Centre may carry out its own photography and filming for promotional purposes.
  • Where possible, we will inform you when entering if filming or photography is taking place.
  • By entering, you consent to the use of any images or footage taken of you for promotional, advertising, or publicity purposes.
  • Please notify a member of staff if you do not wish to be filmed or photographed.
  • All copyright for such material belongs to Glasgow Science Centre.
• CCTV cameras operate throughout Glasgow Science Centre to assist with its management.
  • The extent of CCTV coverage is not guaranteed.

Commercial Photography & Filming / Location Hire For Filming & Photography

Keep your viewers intrigued and engaged with Glasgow Science Centre as your filming backdrop. Our iconic, titanium and glass-clad buildings are located on the River Clyde and provide a beautiful and flexible venue for your indoor or outdoor filming needs. Whether you’d like to feature waterfront views, educational settings, or science exhibits in your video, it’s all here.

Glasgow Science Centre receives many requests from advertisers, broadcasters and TV production companies wanting to film or photograph inside our building and surrounding grounds. We look at each of these requests on a case-by-case basis.

All commercial photography and filming is subject to negotiated terms and conditions as outlined by the location hire contract. Glasgow Science Centre is an independent educational charity. We reserve the right to apply location hire fees, and administration/staffing charges.

Further information and documents

• We ask that any Press and Media filming and photography requests be submitted 72 hours ahead of the proposed shoot to allow us to get health and safety sign-off.
   
• Commercial filming and photography and/or location hire are subject to the availability of our building and its resources at your desired date and time, and through contract negotiation on a case-by-case basis.
   
• Any filming is subject to H&S approval and requires the following documentation:
  • Public Liability Insurance (minimum £5 million)
  • Risk Assessment
  • Method Statement
  • PAT Certificate(s)
  • We might request further information. For example, if you request drone usage, we will require more documentation.
     

• Filming that has not been agreed with us first will always be investigated by our management team, and we reserve the right to terminate or reschedule it.
