Dr. Ameena Camps Presentation: Small Islands Webinar

This is a recording from the Living with Climate Change: Small Islands webinar. The full event is available on the Our World, Our Impact Hub.

As Project Delivery Manager for North Uist Development Company, Ameena’s most recent accomplishment is the delivery of the £3.5 million community wind project: UistWind. Her professional career has taken her along various paths: with an energy and environmental focus; providing international experience in climate change mitigation in academia, the intergovernmental organisation: IEA Greenhouse Gas R & D Programme, and more recently in the community sector. Ameena has a technical background in geoscience, with a PhD in gas hydrates and carbon capture and storage.

Our climate is changing, impacting on the lives and livelihoods of people across the planet. But who is being affected and why? Life on small island developing states (SIDS) such as Seychelles, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Mauritius is changing, despite these communities contributing little to the causes of climate change. Has climate change had an impact on your life?
