A Spark of Science - Miyawaki forests

In Scotland, forests make up 19% of our land mass and across the world they are home to 80% of land animals and plant species.

They provide oxygen, shelter and food and are a vital resource in our fight against climate change. Between 1990 and 2016 we have lost enough forest to cover an area the size of South Africa. But Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki has a solution...

As an educational charity, we want to continue keeping everyone inspired with science. Thank you for listening to A Spark of Science from Glasgow Science Centre.

With support from the Inspiring Science Fund provided by BEIS, UKRI and Wellcome.
