BIRTHDAY PARTY VOLUNTEER

Hours: preferably at least 1 day per month on an ongoing basis, shifts will be 10.30am - 4.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays

THE ROLE

Our volunteers support the mission of Glasgow Science Centre by enhancing our visitor experience and providing a fun and welcoming environment within a leading 5 star Scottish Tourist Attraction. We are looking for volunteers to join the Customer Experience team to specifically assist with the support and delivery of children's birthday parties at Glasgow Science Centre by acting as co-ordinator on the day.

The main role duties are to:

• Welcome birthday party visitors in a friendly and hospitable manner and maintain GSC's customer service promise to a 5 star standard.
• Assist the birthday party groups on arrival and throughout their visitor experience, re-iterating health and safety procedures to groups.
• Act as co-ordinator by being point of contact for birthday party guests, explaining their itinerary and lead them through their planned activities.
• Ensure the work area is clean and tidy, helping to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors.
• Organise set up decoration of the lunch room, storage of presents and ensure party bags are prepared.
• Co-ordinate timings with the food & beverage team and ensure they have put provisions in place for lunch.
• Assist with departure, distributing party bags and helping party organisers to the car with their presents.

The ideal person for this role will have excellent communication skills, the ability to engage well with children, have strong organisation skills with excellent attention to detail, and be an excellent team worker. If this sounds like you then we would love you to get in touch!
