Bright Futures

A generation which came to the centre as children is now rediscovering it as adults. Some are young parents, now bringing their own children. Some have been motivated to pursue a career in science. Some have even been inspired to work at Glasgow Science Centre, such as 19-year-old Orla McKee.

Orla explains: “Coming to the science centre was such an exciting thing for me as a kid – seeing science brought to life in such a fun and engaging way through all the fantastic exhibits and shows definitely shaped a long-lasting love for science and technology. As well as pursuing a chemistry course at university, I now work as a science communicator in the science centre itself! It’s so cool to get to share the experiences that inspired me with visitors old and new every weekend.”
