March of Curiosity
Welcome to March of Curiosity, a month‑long celebration of exploration, imagination and hands‑on science at Glasgow Science Centre.
As we mark our 25th year we’re inviting families, schools and lifelong learners to dive into a packed programme designed to spark wonder in every visitor.
Throughout March, you’ll discover inspiring science shows, creative workshops, meet‑the‑expert moments, playful pop‑ups and immersive adventures across our exhibition floors. All of these are created to help you explore the world, the universe and the ideas shaping our future.
Whether you’re joining us for a school trip, a family day out, a festival event or simply following your curiosity wherever it leads, there’s something new to experience every time you visit.
We’re proud to celebrate this milestone year with you - the communities, classrooms and curious minds that make Glasgow Science Centre what it is.

The Planetarium

Experience breathtaking journeys through the solar system and beyond in Glasgow Science Centre’s state‑of‑the‑art full-dome Planetarium, with immersive 360° films and live presenter‑led shows that bring the universe spectacularly to life.
STEMFest Weekend
Saturday 21 & Sunday 22 March
This special event brings together partners from across Scotland’s leading STEM industries to mark 25 years of inspiring learning and looking to the future.
Explore our dynamic STEM marketplace, meet experts working at the cutting edge of their fields, and dive into themes spanning engineering, maths, renewable energy, marine conservation, and polar exploration.
IMAX Mini-blockbusters

Add-on a thrilling 3D adventure on Scotland’s biggest screen, from T.rex 3D’s rip‑roaring journey into the age of tyrants to Animal Kingdom 3D’s spectacular encounter with the six remarkable animal families.
Science Show Theatre
Weekends
Investigate Newton’s three laws of motion in 'Fantastic Forces', a high-energy, presenter-led show packed with balloons, rockets, a bed of nails and other amazing demonstrations that bring physics to life for all ages.
Workshops
Weekends
Get hands-on with science in our lively workshops. Handle real meteorites and spot the difference between meteor-right and meteor-wrong in 'Meteorite Handling', or decrypt secret messages using wireless technology in 'Cracking Communications'.

Planetarium Music Experiences

Experience rock legends like never before in these immersive, audio-visual journey's in The Planetarium. Classic songs from Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin play against backgrounds of abstract art and surreal environments.
Science Lates: Timewarp

Step into an adults-only night where past, present, and future collide. Classic exhibits, retro gaming, expert stations and hands-on experiments - all in one unmissable evening without the kids!
Starlight Screenings
Sunday 15 March - 19:00 - 21:00
Be a super trouper this Mother’s Day and treat your nearest and dearest to a feel‑good screening of Mamma Mia! as it lights up The Planetarium in this special Starlight Screening. Tickets include popcorn and a drink.
David Elder Lecture

Women have always helped shape humanity's understanding of the universe, albeit often anonymously.
In this talk, “A Constellation of Women in the History of Astronomy”, Sian Prosser will focus on some of the first women members of the Royal Astronomical Society, starting with Caroline Herschel and Mary Somerville, and moving onto lesser-known but significant women in the history of astronomy and astrophysics.

Free live online sessions for your class exploring Our Planet, The Human Body and Innovation. Expert-led with partners including RZZ, Dynamic Earth, Hitachi Energy, the Astronomer Royal for Scotland, and the University of Glasgow.

STEMFest: The Future Starts Now gives pupils a unique chance to meet Scotland’s leading STEM experts, explore real technology, and discover careers spanning engineering, maths, renewable energy, marine conservation, and polar exploration.
