The role
An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the Executive Management Group as a Head of Commercial
You will take lead responsibility for development, planning, programming, marketing and delivery of an extensive range of creative, innovative and high quality commercial products/activities throughout the year (day and night) to achieve the key aim for GSC as detailed in the job description
This will involve both the ongoing development/enhancement of GSC’s existing suite of commercial product/activities and the creation of a range of new commercial products/activities to significantly expand current levels of activity.
You will have a passion for excellence, creativity and innovation, a generator of new ideas. You will be a leader with the ability to work collaboratively but can make decisions and take the initiative. You will also be able to manage a complex and varied workload and can analyse information methodically and efficiently.
The role requires availability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, holidays and be on call if necessary.

GSC already develops and delivers an extensive range of high quality creative and innovative events for its various audiences, from public experiences to the hosting of corporate bookings, how will your skills and experience enable you to expand, enhance and increase the scope of the current range of events to take it to the next level?
Q2. Many departments within GSC have event responsibilities, how will your leadership and creative skills ensure that all departments continue to be engaged and committed to event initiation, development, scheduling and delivery and that you are seen and respected as the focal point for all event activity?
Q3. Being our Head of Commercial will require exceptional organisational skills with the expectation that multiple events are being initiated, developed, scheduled and delivered concurrently. How would you manage the full process to ensure that a steady stream of events/opportunities move from initiation through to delivery?
Q4. The key aims of our Commercial activity is to assist with the delivery of our mission, raising our profile, increasing the size and diversity of our audiences and maximising our financial return. These objectives are not all mutually exclusive but how would you find the mix that best meets the needs of GSC?
Q5. GSC relies on its many partners, stakeholders, funders and others for its events activity. What existing connections do you have that could enhance our existing networks to allow us to expand the level of our activity?
