The Role
The Board of Glasgow Science Centre is seeking our next Chair of the Board of Trustees. This high profile individual will provide strategic leadership to the organisation at a time of great change and opportunity, ensuring that the organisation is well-governed, financially sustainable and delivering on our charitable aims. Working in close partnership with the Chief Executive and fellow Trustees, the Chair will lead on setting a clear vision and strategy that will help us grow our influence and impact across Scotland, and champion Glasgow Science Centre’s role as a nationally and internationally significant science centre that inspires curiosity, learning and inclusive participation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
As Chair, you will be tasked with getting the most out of Glasgow Science Centre’s talented Board members to support the delivery of the mission.
You would be taking up the role at a moment of change and opportunity for the organisation as we lay the foundations for the next 25 years.
Glasgow Science Centre is particularly keen to enhance the diversity of its Board and would warmly welcome applications from people of all ages and from all backgrounds.
The Board meets four times a year at Glasgow Science Centre, 50 Pacific Quay, Glasgow. This role will not be remunerated, but reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
