When you visit the Science Centre you help us in a number of ways.
Glasgow Science Centre is a charity. So part of what you pay to visit or have your event at the Science Centre goes towards community and educational work.
So - thanks to you:
- In the last 12 months we've been able to take travelling Science shows to around 26,800 school pupils in their own school - from Dumfries and Galloway to the far north of the Highlands.
- We've been able to provide a special schools rate for school groups visiting the Centre, and nearly 59,000 children came to see us as part of this organised schools programme.
- We've been able to bring new travelling shows like 'Nanovisions', 'Big Bang', '1001 inventions' and 'Neurobotics' to Glasgow for everyone to enjoy, and have more planned for 2009.
- We've attracted high profile guest speakers and special presenters who have talked about subjects ranging from Climate Change to Innovation in Science.
- We've worked to provide vital Science skills to teachers all across Scotland through a programme of Continuing Professional Development.
Science today provides tomorrow's solutions to tomorrow's problems, so our work in this area is vital!
You can help us continue this work by visiting the Centre, holding your business events here, Giftaid and even by simple donation.
