FAQs - Temporary Closure
Glasgow Science Centre and Whitelee Windfarm Visitor Centre are now closed until further notice to the public. This is a preventive measure amid concerns around public health. We are operating with a reduced team and therefore our normal channels of communication may not be available. You will find answers to common questions below. FAQ’s updated 13/7/20.
When Will Glasgow Science Centre Reopen
We are working hard to be ready to open as soon as possible while ensuring that we keep our visitors and staff safe. We currently do not have a confirmed date for reopening and will announce this via our social media channels and website when we do. We very much look forward to our doors being open and to welcoming you back as soon as we can.
We have also been using this time to improve our experiences with new exhibitions and our facilities including the addition of a family room, changing places toilet and new ticketing facilities.
how do i contact glasgow science centre / whitelee windfarm visitor centre?
We are still working with a limited team, mostly working from home. Our phone lines remain closed but you can contact us on email@example.com and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
What will happen with my Science Passport?
Glasgow Science Centre has temporarily suspended all Science Passport sales and renewals online. We will be in touch with all our Science Passport holders as soon as we reopen to let you know the exact details of how we will be making up for the time we have been closed. It is difficult to know how best to do this at the moment when we are not sure how long the closure will last but please be assured that we will do all we can to make up for lost time.
What if I have booked General Admission Tickets or Event Tickets?
If you were booked to attend any of our upcoming events you will have been contacted by GSC to discuss options or automatically refunded. Refunds should normally be in your account within 7 - 10 days but may take up to 21 working days. If you have any queries about a refund please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you didn't book your tickets directly through our website, please contact the ticket agency you purchased it from.
When will whitelee windfarm car parking and visitor centre reopen?
Scottish Power Renewables and Glasgow Science Centre are working hard to be ready to open as soon as possible while ensuring that we keep staff and visitors safe. We currently do not have a confirmed date for reopening and will announce this via our social media channels and website when we do. We very much look forward to our doors being open again and to welcoming you back as soon as we can.
Our main car park is currently closed, however the spill over car park is open. Please note that the car park access road is narrow and we ask that you stick to the speed limits, use the designated passing places where appropriate, be mindful of other visitors and social distancing.
What if I have gift vouchers or corporate tickets?
Anyone with gift vouchers or corporate tickets which have expired during the closure period will be entitled to an extension to allow the vouchers to be used once we reopen. Please contact us once we reopen and we will make arrangements for your vouchers/tickets to be used.
When will the March Universe for Beginners course be completed?
We are planning to run the 3rd and 4th class from this series again at a future date to allow everyone to complete their course. We will be in touch as soon as possible with the dates of these classes. In the event that you are unable to attend the new dates we will make arrangements with you at that time to ensure you are able to complete the course.
What if I have a school/group or on tour visit booked?
At the moment Glasgow Science Centre and Whitelee Windfarm Visitor Centre are both closed and Glasgow Science Centre’s On Tour team are not on the road. Once we know when we will be reopening our bookings team will be in touch with everyone who had bookings during our closure to see if it is possible to reschedule.
If you were in receipt of any funding relating to a trip which is not currently going ahead, please hold onto the funding at the moment and we will be in touch in due course. Cancellation policies for schools and groups are currently suspended so there is no cost for cancelled trips until further notice.
Can I make a booking for a trip on a future date?
At the moment we are not taking bookings for any future dates. Please feel free to email us your enquiry and we will respond as soon as our booking diary is open.
Can I book a Corporate Event/Christmas Party?
Our events teams are working hard with clients to organise future events and activities and as such would still love to hear from you about how we can be a part of your plans. Bookings are available for Christmas parties this December.
