FAQs - Temporary Closure
Glasgow Science Centre and Whitelee Windfarm Visitor Centre are now closed until further notice to the public. This is a preventive measure amid concerns around public health. We are operating a with a reduced team and therefore our normal channels of communication may not be available. You will find answers to common questions below.
What will happen with my Science Passport?
Glasgow Science Centre has temporarily suspended all Science Passport sales and renewals online. We will be in touch with all our Science Passport holders as soon as we reopen to let you know the exact details of how we will be making up for the time we have been closed. It is difficult to know how best to do this at the moment when we are not sure how long the closure will last but please be assured that we will do all we can to make up for lost time.
What if I have booked General Admission Tickets or Event Tickets?
If you were booked to attend any of our upcoming events in March, April and May you will have been contacted by GSC to discuss options or automatically refunded. Refunds should normally be in your account within 7 - 10 days but may take up to 21 working days.
If you didn't book your tickets directly through our website, please contact the ticket agency you purchased it from.
When will the March Universe for Beginners course be completed?
We are planning to run the 3rd and 4th class from this series again at a future date to allow everyone to complete their course. We will be in touch as soon as possible with the dates of these classes. In the event that you are unable to attend the new dates we will make arrangements with you at that time to ensure you are able to complete the course.
What if I have a school/group or on tour visit booked?
At the moment Glasgow Science Centre and Whitelee Windfarm Visitor Centre are both closed and Glasgow Science Centre’s On Tour team are not on the road. Once we know when we will be reopening our bookings team will be in touch with everyone who had bookings during our closure to see if it is possible to reschedule.
If you were in receipt of any funding relating to a trip which is not currently going ahead, please hold onto the funding at the moment and we will be in touch in due course. Cancellation policies for schools and groups are currently suspended so there is no cost for cancelled trips until further notice.
Can I make a booking for a trip on a future date?
At the moment we are not taking bookings for any future dates. Please feel free to email us your enquiry and we will respond as soon as our booking diary is open.
Can I book a Corporate Event/Christmas Party?
Our events teams are working hard with clients to organise future events and activities such as Christmas parties and would still love to hear from you about how we can be a part of your plans.
Our corporate events team can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
