Climate Change - Free CLPL Twilight Session
An exciting twilight session
Join us on the 12th, 13th or 15th November 2018 : 4-5.30pm
Due to popular demand these are repeats of sessions from August and September (so if you attended that one it'll be the same content!)
BOOKING WILL OPEN SHORTLY
Come along to this informal, after school hours session where our expert staff will give you detailed instruction in a series of three lessons designed to engage P5-P7 pupils with the thought-provoking subjects of sustainability and climate change.
Climate change is an ever increasingly important issue for our society and so educating children through hands-on lessons such as these is a fantastic way to inspire your pupils to think about both climate change and sustainability in a new way.
Each lesson is linked to CfE.
We'll also give you a helpful equipment pack for you to take back to your school, all completely free. We're very grateful to our partners Scottish Power in the production of these teaching resources.
The lessons and equipment pack
Scottish Power and Glasgow Science Centre have teamed up to create lesson plans that explore climate change through STEM. The activities focus on innovations in the context of:
- Reducing plastic waste
- Harnessing 'waste' gases
Each activity is hands-on and designed in line with the second level CfE science experiences and outcomes. In the pack, we've given you step-by-step instructions and the kit required to inspire your pupils to think about climate change and sustainability in a new way.
This session is suitable for 2nd level teachers.
