Floor 1 at Glasgow Science Centre

There are loads of hands-on exhibits to discover on Floor 1 of the Science Mall. Test your reactions with our wiggly wire, see the effects of air pressure and things might not be as they first appear in our illusions section.

Get up close and personal with our creepy crawlies on your visit to Floor 1 - meet our Madagascan hissing cockroaches, giant African land snails and millipedes.

On-board The Big Explorer, if you’re lucky enough to be accompanied by an under-7, you can put on your own sea-faring puppet show, don your hard hat and operate our crane, or investigate floating and sinking in our water exhibit.

Toddlers can also explore our soft-play area that’s designed to stimulate investigative young minds.

Floor 1 is also home to two of our top attractions: our Science Show Theatre, where you might catch a live interactive performance and our state-of-the-art Planetarium where you can go on a spectacular journey through the sky.
