GENE THERAPY
In the image, a virus particle flows through a blood vessel alongside red blood cells. Scientists are working to modify this virus for use in gene therapy. It is hoped that the specially engineered virus will be able to deliver genes to specific organs or tissues in the patient to treat disease.
